Sri Lankan President Rajapaksa the first train ride from the capital, is located in the south of Colombo to northern Kilinochchi town in the opening ceremony, re opened with the local people celebrating the railway line.

      Ministry of economic development of Sri Lanka Samara said on that day, re opened railway traffic significance to the northern Jaffna peninsula area of Kilinochchi town of major, will help to strengthen the North South transport of goods and personnel flow, speed up the pace of northern area of post-war reconstruction and promote local social and economic development.

      Kilinochchi in northern Sri Lanka, war is the political and military center of the tigers, built the LTTE courts, police and tax bureau. During the war, control of Colombo and the LTTE including Kilinochchi Town, north of the Jaffna Peninsula railway line is completely destroyed, the railway traffic was interrupted.
